Suzuki Hayabusa the ultimate sportbike is to be available in India from 2020.

New Delhi, December 13, 2019: Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), a subsidiary of two-wheeler manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, rolls out the 2020 edition of the legendary motorcycle – Hayabusa. The 2020 edition of the ‘Ultimate Sportbike’ will be available in two new colour range of Metallic Thunder Gray and Candy Daring Red. Over the years, Suzuki Hayabusa has evolved while staying true to its concept of being at the pinnacle of high-performance motorcycles.

Husqvarna Motorcycles Available in India.

Indian youngsters who are living in Middle East will be happy to learn that the world famous Husqvarna motorcycles are specially made in India. And it is too at affordable price of INR 1.80Lakhs. Of course that the price is an introductory one in India from the KTM Motorcycles. The models are being sold in KTM stores India wide. There are two of its models are available here like Husqvarna Vitpilen 250cc and Husqvarna Svartpilen 250cc. One is cafe racer and the other is with scrambler style.

Actually these models are Rs 7,000/- more than the KTM 200 Duke in major Indian cities. They are with Fuel Injection (BS-VI) and with dual Channel ABS brakes.

Hero HF Deluxe Motorcyycle with BS-VI Announced.

ndia’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp on Tuesday launched BS-VI motorcycles in its entry level 100 cc bike, starting from Rs 55,925.The two variants, HF Deluxe BS-VI for the self-start alloy wheel variant is priced at Rs 55,925 whereas, its self-start alloy-wheel i3S variant costs Rs 57,250 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both the models, which comes with Xsens technology-powered fuel injection system, will hit the market from the beginning of January 2020. “With these products coming in quick succession, Hero MotoCorp is rapidly ramping-up its portfolio of BS-VI products and plans to transform its entire range to BS-VI norms very soon,” the company said.

Mahendra Electric Scooter in 2020.
The past couple of months have seen considerable action in the electric two-wheeler space in India: Ather Energy announced plans for a new plant in Hosur, Bajaj Auto revealed the new Chetak, and Ultraviolette showcased its performance electric motorcycle. Now Mahindra & Mahindra, through its two-wheeler arm, is getting ready to plug into electric mobility, which will make it the sole OEM in India to have EVs on two, three, and four wheels.

Mahindra is said to be at an advanced stage of unveiling its first electric scooter based on the Mahindra Gusto scooter platform. In April 2017, our sister publication Autocar Professional had reported that a Gusto-based e-scooter was under development. The now-discontinued Gusto 110cc and 125cc scooter models were the most successful Mahindra models on two wheels, compared to the Duro and Rodeo.

TVS Motor Company registered sales of 266,582 units in November 2019 as against sales of 319,965 units in the month of November 2018. Yamaha Motorcycle agents in Sri Lanka are providing 5 number of their motorbikes from Rs 50,000/- - Rs 10,000/- on selected models. Mean while in India TVS had announced their BS VI requirements meeting Jupiter two wheeler. Also their BS-6 standard acceptable Apache motorbike models RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V are announced with LED Head Lights. They are priced at INR 1.03 and INR 1.24 respectively. In the indian two wheeler market England's Triumph Motorcycles has announced their Triumph Rocket 3 Rand Triumph Rocket 3GD. These motorcycles re powered by 2,500 cc engine.

Baja the Indian two wheeler maker has announced their Electric Scooter for the Indian commuters. It is powerd by Lithium-ion Battery. It got a range of 95 Km on normal conditions. Also the electric battery powered scooter got one special features it can ove backwards for parking purpose. Steel body is another feature of this new Escooter from Bajaj. It is priced around INR 100,000/-. The E-Scooter is expected to be in the market by December and it will be available by January 2020, all over India. Sri Lanka users have to wait and see whether this will be available here. Meanwhile other top two wheeler makers (Hero, TVS, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki) in India too are with the idea of making their own escooters and emotorbikes for commuters.

Motorcycle manufacturers in India must comply with BS VI (BS 6) by 2020.

Motorcycle manfacturers and Importers must comply with the BS VI emmission conditions from 20th April 2020. For the customers it means more price for their motorcycles in the near future. Already Honda Activa 125 acooter is marketed in the Indian market with a BS 6 engine. Yamaha is ready to release its BS6 motorcyles by November 2019. Meanwhile nearly all the Motorcycl manufacturers are concentrating on producing Electric Scooters and electric motorcycles. Already Hero motors are marketing their own Escooters for the Insian market. Bajaj motorcycle makers are expected to unveil their first E-scooter by October 2019. TVS too is ready to release their Electric Scooter. Cheap Lithium batteries that can be charged quickly, can hold more energy and with less weight made all the motorcycle makers to go with producing their own re-chargable battery powered electric two wheelers in India. So Sri Lanka motorcycle prices to may go up once the BS6 motorcycles are imported to Sri Lanka from India. Their prices may go up by 10- 15%. On the other hand India made electric scooters and motorcycles may hit the Sri lanka two wheeler market soon.

Modified Motorcycle Exhaust Rs 50,000 Fine in Sri Lanka.

A person riding a motorcycle with modified Exhaust was fined by the Jaffna courts for breaching the law. The person was riding the motorcycle under the influence of liquor and was found to be not holding proper motorbike documents. Modified Exhaust was fined with Rs 50,000/-, drunk driving was fined with Rs 25,000/- and for the missing documents Rs 9,000/- was fined by the judge. So the person had a total fine of Rs 84,000/-for his traffic violation in Sri Lanka.

One motorcycle rider in Sri Lanka was imposed with a fine of Rs. 80,000 for riding a motorcycle under the influence of liquor and not having a valid riding licence and other legal documents for the vehicle.The person was arrested around 11pm in Yatagala, Unawatuna when he was riding the motorcycle by the Sri Lanka police office.The motorbike rider was fined Rs. 25,000 for riding while drunk, Rs. 25,000 for riding without a driving licence, Rs. 15,000 for riding with no revenue licence, and Rs. 15,000 for riding with no insurance certificate for the motorcycle, making for a total fine of Rs. 80,000.
